Member Spotlight – Letta Jenkins, NEW Mid-Atlantic

“[I value] networking with like-minded influential women and giving back to the next generation of female leaders.”

Name: Letta Jenkins

How did you first hear about NEW, and what prompted you to join?

My company introduced me to NEW by sponsoring and promoting NEW events. I was inspired to join and become an active member when I discovered NEW’s mission of the advancement of ALL women and the great work around diversity & inclusion and leadership development.

How has NEW impacted your personal/professional life?

As the Partnership Officer of the NEW Mid-Atlantic region, NEW has given me a platform to advance my passion of bridging the gap between female leaders and college aged women to help jump start their careers through mentorship and networking with women who once were in their shoes.

Tell us about a recent personal accomplishment or event in your life.

A recent personal accomplishment was being named 2020 Top Women in Grocery by Progressive Grocer.

What is your favorite NEW event you’ve attended?

My favorite event to attend is NEW Mid-Atlantic’s annual Crab-aoke Mixer event. It gives us a space to network and socialize with other women throughout the region in a fun social manner.

What other activities, aside from being an amazing member of NEW, do you enjoy in your free time?

In my free time I enjoy reading, traveling, and relaxation at the spa. I recently took up gardening with my 5-year-old daughter. It gives us an opportunity to have more mommy-daughter time. We love to watch the fruit of our labor come to life!
